Monte Carlo simulation for noise analysis in Sigma-Delta ADCs
Author(s): Mohsen Ebrahim
Abstract: Sigma-Delta Analog-to-Digital Converters (ΣΔ ADCs) are widely used in high-precision applications, particularly in audio processing, instrumentation, and communication systems. Despite their advantages in noise suppression, various sources of noise still affect their performance. Monte Carlo simulation has become a powerful tool for assessing and optimizing noise performance in ΣΔ ADCs. This paper discusses the application of Monte Carlo simulation for analyzing noise in ΣΔ ADCs, emphasizing the methodology, its use in performance estimation, and how it aids in the design and optimization of these converters.
